Common issues and their solutions when using Botfather Verification.

Verification Issues​

Member Can't Verify​

  1. Check if authentication is enabled:
/auth status
  1. Verify the system is configured:
/setup
  1. Ensure verification roles exist:
/auth verified_roles list

💡 Tip: Make sure members have permission to view the verification channel.

Roles Not Assigning​

  1. Check if verification roles are enabled:
/auth verified_roles status
  1. Verify bot permissions:
  • Manage Roles permission
  • Role hierarchy position
  1. Review role settings:
/auth verified_roles list

System Configuration​

Setup Failed​

If setup fails:

  1. Ensure you have admin permissions
  2. Check if a configuration exists:
/auth status
  1. Reset and try again:
/setup

Welcome Messages Not Sending​

  1. Check if welcome messages are enabled:
/welcome-dm status
  1. Verify message configuration:
/welcome-dm test

Common Error Messages​
